The project "Advancing Media Literacy and Digital Solution for Improved Adolescents and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (AYSRH)" was a two years project that was implemented with the Young Men Christians Association (YMCA) as lead, in partnership with iCog Anyone Can Code (iCog-ACC) and Media Smart Youth – Ethiopia (MeSY). The project' goal was to improve access to high-quality AYSRH information and services through the advancement of media literacy and digital solutions. This project was based on research conducted by iCog-ACC, which you can find here.
Under this project iCog-ACC conducted the following activities.
The younger generation looks for digital platforms for information about their bodies, health and relationships; yet often has a hard time finding credible sources. This campaign is designed to disseminate positive AYSRH information.
Through our social media campaign It's gratifying to note that we've achieved 3,700,000M impressions, reached 1,700,000M individuals, and engaged 50,800 people through the campaign, showcasing the campaign's effectiveness in reaching our target audience.
This acceleration program was organized for youth owned/led tech start-ups working on advancing AYSRH (Adolescents and Youth Sexual Reproductive Health). These start-ups that were already engaged in SRH took part in various training such as media literacy skills and AYSRH value clarification and mentorship programs.
